The Client

Silver Lining Supply Co. is a Shopify storefront that sells alcohol-free mocktail and craft kits for people who are sober or sober-curious. The brand was founded by four women who found each other when they needed support the most, during their own recovery. One of the four women, Sue, was the group’s guiding light. Her mantra was “the silver lining of sobriety,” reminding them to focus on what you gain instead of what you lose when you get sober. Sadly, Sue passed away, but her memory lives on in her friends, and she is the inspiration behind The Silver Lining Supply Co.

That story and feeling were central to the website's design and purpose. An off-the-shelf template was never going to give it the spotlight it deserved.

The Challenge

With such an emotional story as its foundation, Silver Lining Supply Co needed a website with the same warmth and intention as everything else about the business. The goal was to create a site that felt fully custom while remaining easy for a non-technical team to update on their own.

The Approach

Rather than force the vision into a pre-built theme, I built the site from scratch around the brand itself:

  • Custom design: Every page (Home, About, Collections, FAQ, Contact, Blog) was designed specifically for the brand, from layout to the incorporation of brand colors into the color palette.

  • Story-centered: Each page of the site was designed to embody the warmth, values, and sense of belonging that define the brand, and to carry forward Sue’s message about sobriety.

  • Easy to update: The site is set up so the team can update their own text, images, and pages without needing to call a developer just to change the copy.

  • Built for everyone: While the site incorporates movement and bright colors as part of the brand's spirit, we recognized that some visitors may be sensitive to animation. To meet accessibility standards, I added a “reduce motion” option for visitors who prefer to turn it off.

The Result

Silver Lining Supply Co. is live with a storefront that feels like it was built around the brand, not the other way around- one that holds to the brand’s spirit while giving the team the freedom to keep it growing on their own.
